High-Density Ice Ih Obtained by Crystallization of Water in a High-Frequency Electromagnetic Field

The processes of crystallization and melting, the structure ice formed under freezing in an alternating electromagnetic field with a frequency 2.45 GHz have been studied using thermometry, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction. Using powder diffraction at 85 K, it was determined that obtained samples consisted several phases hexagonal Ih, density 0.43 ÷ 2.58% higher than ordinary ice. time necessary for this to crystallize approximately 2.2 times shorter not exposed field. According data melting accompanied by endothermic heat effect 9% greater ice, point 1 °C lower. A similar is typical metastable phases. We assume formation Ih increased results from action on network hydrogen bonds liquid water which precursor formation.
